The Reality & Challenges of Parenthood

As a parent in today’s crazy digital world, are you...

  • Living in “reactive” mode instead of taking a “proactive” approach?

  • Feeling overwhelmed by digital distractions?

  • Confused how to prioritize investing in your children’s spirituality?

  • Losing your marriage or family?

SO GOES THE

FAMILY,

SO GOES THE

CHURCH…

AND SO GOES OUR

CULTURE

In a recent article in the New York Times, U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. Vivek Murthy, declared parental burnout as a “public health” issue. In his article, Dr. Murphy stated, “it’s time for a major SHIFT in how society values parenting.”

We couldn’t agree more. Unfortunately for most parents, stress is a huge part of their everyday life. In fact, “41% of parents say that most days they are so stressed they cannot function” (Parents Under Pressure, p. 9).

Included in parental burnout are issues of time, spirituality, and busy-ness. Think about this: There are 168 hours in a week. The average parent works 36.4 hours a week. For their children, school takes up at least 35 hours a week, and media gets a whopping 42 hours a week. And at best… Church gets 3 hours a week, IF they even attend.

Put another way, kids will spend 60 times as many hours at school than they will at Church.

So, the question remains, who is discipling our kids, and who is discipling our stressed-out, overburdened parents?

GOD’S BETTER PLAN FOR THE HOME

The home life is a crucial area that cannot be delegated to anyone else but the parents.

If you spend one hour with children a week at church, they get one hour of ministry. But, if you can spend one hour training, discipling, and equipping parents, your hour multiplies itself into hundreds of hours of ministry in the home.

This is God’s plan for the home. This is why we need such a powerful “shift” in our homes, and it begins with mentoring parents with a plan!

Most parents don’t have a plan for how to raise spiritually strong and resilient kids in the face of our confusing and toxic culture. At The Winning Family, we developed proven resources parents can follow to help their family triumph regardless of circumstances.

Shifting Parents, Shifting The Home

If we want to reach our culture, it begins by shifting our homes and families back to God. Instead of living in mere “reactive” mode, you can take a “proactive” approach to raising spiritually strong, resilient kids. The best time for you to start leaving a spiritual legacy is right now

That’s why The Winning Family was created. We believe parents need more than prayer… you need a plan! We’re getting in your corner, helping YOU grow spiritually and emotionally as you learn to lead your family with godly wisdom, discernment, and truth. That’s called leaving a legacy.

A legacy is not something we leave for our children but in our children. This is what will continue from generation to generation. Of course, in the parenting journey, the ultimate measure of success won’t be truly revealed until we stand before God to give an account for what we did with the precious gifts He entrusted us with—our children. We believe that as parents/caregivers, our most significant contribution to the Kingdom of God may not be something we do ... but someone we raise.

RESOURCES for you TO SUCCED.

Every resource you will find here was designed for you, the parent, in mind. Whether through our books, webinars, masterclasses, podcasts, newsletters, or other resources, our heart is for you to feel encouraged as a parent. You’re not alone. Just taking this first step to empower yourself can change the rest of your life.

The next generation of Christians is depending on us, on you, to care about Christ and develop a plan of action for discipleship. And it starts in our own home: with the hearts of our children, and with a parent’s heart too.

Sincerely,
Pastor Rodney & Michelle Gage
